Artwork Description

Iconic redhead from the 1970's In front of a fire. This is based off of the image on the front of Redhead matches in the 70's. Every few decades they would upgrade the hair style, till they got tired of it and just drew the face and avoided drawing the red hair. Which to me seems like a real shame. The best part was the hair styles.

This image was hand drawn on white 600gsm cardboard, A3 size. The red is a India Ink which makes it more vivid then watercolours and or other paints. The black is a fade proof and water resistant black ink. This is the 3rd incarnation of this art work. Mistakes can't be covered up and or repaired easily so I have had to restarted it 3 times, having nearly completed each time.

Artist Bio

Computer programmer for years, and love the creative process in coding software. However no one gets to see this creative process so have gone back to art. The last few years I have been looking for the best medium for me, and I think I have settled on 2 so far. I originally started with sketching and do like to sketch with graphite pencil. I've now also included Textile Art/Fabric Art. My inspiration is Bisa Butler, who creates life size pieces using American Black History. My calling is pop culture and comic book references. I've scoured a few 1960's Romance Comic Books as reference as well as using some of my own photographs of animals and things around me..
