Please note that this has been professionally framed by "Up in Frames".
Close up it appears abstract, only from a distance you can recognize that it's a pair of lips kissing. This is painting with fabric or alternatively could be considered quilting but there is no stitching.
Unlike paint, fabric can catch the light more, and is many layers so it's surface is quite textured. In some instances minor modification meant re-gluing a large number of pieces. The edges of the fabric can fray even more, hence it should be framed under glass to stop further fraying and to stop the piece from catching dirt and dust.
The piece is a close up of two women kissing, the reference was an actual photo. The art is meant to be sensual and soft, however it is best viewed from a distance due to the low "resolution". Some of the fabric is from quilting patches and some are from old shirts.
It has gone through quite a few interactions as I tried new techniques and glues. I would consider a black matting and a pink frame or a white matting with a black frame. The matting should cover the black border. The size of the piece is A4 which should help with framing size.
