Artwork Description

Every kingdom has its enchanted ruins and this one comes with a princess under a sleeping spell. Fate arrives in the form of a prince, captured here at the very moment he discovers her. If he looks familiar, that’s because he was painted using a reference photo of Brad Pitt I couldn’t resist!
By day, it’s a portrait of Sleeping Beauty. By night, the fairytale awakens: the castle scene glows, inspired by classic Disney background art.

Photos show the painting under different lighting conditions, daylight, room light, and low light. In the daylight image where the canvas looks white, the 'invisible' glow part is still mildly visible, you can see the yellowy outlines of the castle etc.

Hang it in a bright daylight area, and top it up with a bright room light at night.

Or for the fastest and strongest charge it can get, use a UV LED bar or flood light. Use a 395nm UV light at 30 - 100 watts, this will supercharge it in seconds if it's mounted on the wall close to the canvas.

Artist Bio

Hi! My name is Esther.

For the last 13 years I've painted starry night sky glow murals under the name Stella Murals.

Last year I moved from New Zealand to Western Australia and at the same time changed the way I paint glow art.
I wanted to explore a more painterly approach and make colourful acrylic paintings on canvas. I describe them as day/night glow paintings.

I started painting landscapes and have shifted a little to paint fantasy/fairytale subjects as fantasy art was my first love way back when I was an art student.
