Artwork Description

The Jabiru, also known as the Black-necked Stork, is one of Australia’s most elegant and striking wetland birds. This piece captures its tall, graceful stance and iridescent colours with a modern, expressive twist — a perfect balance of poise and personality.
Inspired by time spent in northern Australia, where these magnificent birds are often seen wading through shimmering wetlands, this painting celebrates their quiet strength and beauty. With its bold composition and vibrant tones, the Jabiru brings a touch of sophistication and serenity to any room.
Painted in watercolour on high-quality 300gsm hot-pressed cotton paper, this artwork combines loose washes and fine detailing to highlight the bird’s unique colouring and structure. A contemporary piece that reflects the calm, reflective spirit of nature — ideal for lovers of wildlife, wetlands, and Australian landscapes.

Artist Bio

Originally from Hungary, Eszter moved to Australia in 2005 and was instantly captivated by the country’s vibrant landscapes, unique wildlife, and tropical colours. Her artistic journey began about ten years ago, after the birth of her son, when she finally found the time to explore her creative side and discover a deep love for painting.
Working primarily with watercolour, Eszter is drawn to bright, joyful hues and often uses the medium in untraditional, expressive ways. Her work is characterised by a sense of playfulness and spontaneity, as she continues to explore different styles and techniques that reflect her curiosity and evolving artistic voice.
Eszter’s inspiration is deeply rooted in her travels around Australia. After spending over three years exploring the country in a caravan with her family, she has travelled through every state — from the red dirt and rugged beauty of the Kimberley and Uluru, to the rolling mountains, coastal beaches, and serene South Australian seascapes. Along the way, she’s been inspired by Australia’s incredible diversity of landscapes, native flora, and fauna. Now settled in tropical Far North Queensland, Eszter continues to be inspired daily by the lush, vibrant surroundings and the endless beauty of nature.
