Artwork Description

The Palm Cockatoo is one of Australia’s most striking and charismatic birds — and this funky, hip-looking fellow captures that personality perfectly. With his wild crest and confident pose, he embodies individuality and attitude, making him a bold statement piece for any space.
Inspired by my love of bright, expressive colour and Australia’s incredible wildlife, this painting celebrates the unique charm of the tropics. The Palm Cockatoo’s playful energy and striking features make it an artwork that instantly draws the eye and lifts the mood of a room.
Painted in watercolour on high-quality 300gsm cold-pressed cotton paper, this piece combines loose, vibrant washes with fine detailing to bring out the bird’s quirky character and textured feathers. It’s a celebration of colour, movement, and personality — perfect for anyone who loves art with flair and a tropical twist.

Artist Bio

Originally from Hungary, Eszter moved to Australia in 2005 and was instantly captivated by the country’s vibrant landscapes, unique wildlife, and tropical colours. Her artistic journey began about ten years ago, after the birth of her son, when she finally found the time to explore her creative side and discover a deep love for painting.
Working primarily with watercolour, Eszter is drawn to bright, joyful hues and often uses the medium in untraditional, expressive ways. Her work is characterised by a sense of playfulness and spontaneity, as she continues to explore different styles and techniques that reflect her curiosity and evolving artistic voice.
Eszter’s inspiration is deeply rooted in her travels around Australia. After spending over three years exploring the country in a caravan with her family, she has travelled through every state — from the red dirt and rugged beauty of the Kimberley and Uluru, to the rolling mountains, coastal beaches, and serene South Australian seascapes. Along the way, she’s been inspired by Australia’s incredible diversity of landscapes, native flora, and fauna. Now settled in tropical Far North Queensland, Eszter continues to be inspired daily by the lush, vibrant surroundings and the endless beauty of nature.
