Artwork Description

Muted grey waters meet olive-green landscape, evoking a sense of raw natural beauty. Bright, unexpected bursts of fluorescent orange punctuate the composition, infusing energy and contrast that draw the eye. Layered with intriguing lettering and words, the piece invites curiosity, adding depth and narrative to the artwork.

Artist Bio

Ethne Benn’s style is varied, moving from intuitive to whimsical and most often has a narrative. Growing up in Africa, she has always had a deep love and appreciation of landscapes. Ethne has worked with women all her life and this is evident in her abstract, figurative work.

Ethne has travelled quite extensively and you may recognise images of places in Europe, Africa and her new home country, Australia.

After decades of constant striving to paint freely and spontaneously, Ethne is finally able to draw from within and produces fresh and exciting results through self-expression.

As well as teaching art, Ethne exhibits and sells her art online and at various exhibitions around Australia was a finalist in the KAAF art prize in November 2016.
