Artist Bio

Eva Chen is a Taranaki-based realist fine artist in New Zealand, specializing in oil painting. Her work focuses on still life and animal subjects, capturing the small, quiet moments of everyday life and transforming them into poetic artistic expressions. Characterized by soft tones and a delicate play of light and shadow, her paintings convey a sense of tranquility and warmth through the dialogue between nature and objects.

She graduated from CTU in Taiwan with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design in 2015. Shortly after, she moved to Melbourne, Australia, she lived for six years and met her husband.

In 2019, Eva discovered that art had always been her true passion, leading her to pursue it as a career. Since then, her original paintings have been collected around the world, including in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Her work can be found at The Artist’s Room Gallery in Dunedin.

With gratitude for every piece that finds a home, she believes in giving back, donating 5% from each original painting to Foster Hope.

In 2022, she and her husband relocated to New Zealand to settle permanently. She
continues to evolve her self-expression through exploring different subjects and styles. She hopes you enjoy her paintings as much as she enjoys creating them.
