Artwork Description

A unique "SPRING" beautifully framed in a natural wood frame
94 x 94 x 4 cm with frame
75cm diameter of inner circle

A 'SPRING'' is an uniquely original 3D abstract art piece inspired by the colours and details of the nature in spring season and the layered effect of juju hats.

Juju hats originally comes from Africa and been wear in tribal ceremonies as decoration headpiece and represent wealth and prosperity.
Feather itself as symbol is associated with spiritual evolution to a higher plane . Yellow colour is the color of the sun, full of happiness, optimism, confidence and feeling good about yourself. A yellow feather may be a reminder to you to stay light-hearted, to keep a positive outlook and to know that you are enough, perfect just as you are.

This piece comprises of hundreds of individually crafted, hand cut and hand painted paper feathers that are individually painted with a beautiful high quality acrylic paint. These feathers are then carefully layered on a high quality white canvas to create the unique 3D design.

This artwork isn’t behind any glasswork or Perspex but it’s designed as 3D paper collage on top of the canvas where you can feel and see the textures and dimensions .
From distance the artwork looks like painting or print but closer you get to it , you will start see the 3d dimension , details and its texture.

The feathers are made of a high quality thick multimedia paper and painted in a high quality acrylic paint .

The canvas itself has been painted with white gesso as a first step and then further topped up with a number of layers of pure white acrylic paint to ensure the bright white background.

The finished artwork is then sprayed a number of times with a matt artist spray finish protection coat ( MICADOR, which is an invisible plastic coating that provides a soft and permanent barrier to dirt, moisture, salt and staining)
Due to the choice of the paint, paper and canvas I have not noticed any levels of dust attaching itself to the artwork. If required a very gentle feather dusting will displace any dust that may have attached itself to the artwork.

This “SPRING”, comprising of yellow, green, lime green & orange colours on a brilliant white background with a natural wood box style frame ( black frame can be change on request ) makes this piece a beautiful modern contemporary piece of art which fit's easily into any interior style.

Artist Bio

Eva Johnova is a Slovakian born abstract artist residing on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Growing up Eva has always had an artistic side which she initially expressed through her work as a make-up artist in Paris, London and Edinburgh. Since moving to Australia she has expanded her horizons and moved into the world of contemporary abstract art and design.

Nature is Eva’s greatest inspiration – especially the rich colours and textures from the mountains of her childhood in Slovakia and both the natural beauty of the Australian outback and the many beaches around Australia. Her earliest pieces involved working with found objects such as old furniture, books, newspapers to create environmentally sensitive works of art. She then took inspiration from the ethereal beauty of feathers. She has been using the natural material and also delicate hand-crafted paper feathers, during her previous design phase.

As Eva's creative spirits have soared, she has returned more and more to her inspiration from the natural beauty to be found in the outback and beaches of Australia. Eva has been inspired to create the beautiful resin artworks that mimic both the beautiful waves crashing on the sandy beaches which the Northern Beaches of Sydney are famous for as well as the contrasting beauty of the harsh ruggedness of the outback meeting the smoothness of the ocean.
