Artwork Description

White Contours 3 by Eva Johnova

Size: Approximately 50 × 44 × 7 cm (measured from the highest, widest and deepest points)

Medium: Sculptural mixed media on canvas

White Contours 3 is a contemporary sculptural wall piece that celebrates the beauty of flowing organic form.
Inspired by the softness of draped fabric and the quiet movement found in nature, the artwork combines minimalist design with sculptural depth to create a calming visual presence.

Hand-shaped flowing contours emerge from the surface, inviting changing light to reveal new highlights and gentle shadows throughout the day. Finished in a pure matte white, the piece embraces subtle handmade variations that celebrate its unique, handcrafted character.

Although presented in crisp white, the artwork can also be commissioned in a custom colour to complement a specific interior or architectural space.

One of the unique features of White Contours 3 is its versatility. The sculpture can be displayed in several different orientations, allowing the collector to choose the composition that best suits their space.

Artist Statement

My White Contours series explores the relationship between light, shadow and form. Rather than relying on colour, each piece invites the viewer to experience movement through sculptural surfaces and changing natural light.

Every contour is shaped by hand, allowing the material to guide the final composition. I embrace subtle imperfections as part of the making process, believing they give each work its own quiet personality and authenticity.

The result is a contemporary sculptural artwork that encourages stillness, balance and a deeper appreciation of simplicity.

Artist Bio

Eva Johnova is a Slovakian born abstract artist residing on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Growing up Eva has always had an artistic side which she initially expressed through her work as a make-up artist in Paris, London and Edinburgh. Since moving to Australia she has expanded her horizons and moved into the world of contemporary abstract art and design.

Nature is Eva’s greatest inspiration – especially the rich colours and textures from the mountains of her childhood in Slovakia and both the natural beauty of the Australian outback and the many beaches around Australia. Her earliest pieces involved working with found objects such as old furniture, books, newspapers to create environmentally sensitive works of art. She then took inspiration from the ethereal beauty of feathers. She has been using the natural material and also delicate hand-crafted paper feathers, during her previous design phase.

As Eva's creative spirits have soared, she has returned more and more to her inspiration from the natural beauty to be found in the outback and beaches of Australia. Eva has been inspired to create the beautiful resin artworks that mimic both the beautiful waves crashing on the sandy beaches which the Northern Beaches of Sydney are famous for as well as the contrasting beauty of the harsh ruggedness of the outback meeting the smoothness of the ocean.
