Harlequin by Eve Sellars – a colourful painting inspired by Australian trees.
THE INSPIRATION
The view from the studio was truly lovely today - bright blue sky, speckled shade from towering gum trees, and grevillea plants flowering everywhere. My love and obsession for the local countryside is reflected in this high-chroma depiction of Australian native flora, specifically, the gum leaves of a red box eucalyptus tree.
My art explores the colour and form of Australian native flora - in this painting, eucalyptus leaves - in a semi abstract and playful composition. Purple and teal intermingle with yellow-green and pink, set against a dramatic dark background.
HANGING OPTIONS
This painting can be hung any way you like! The wire at the back can be easily moved with a screwdriver. Therefore, I have signed the side of the painting rather than the front.
Framing is available for an extra charge.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born into a family of musicians, authors, actors, photographers and painters, it was natural that life lead me here, poised at the canvas, brush in hand. I live entirely off-grid at my bushland home in rural Victoria with hubby, dogs and a gorgeously prolific vegetable garden.
I use art to express my immense - well, let's say obsessive - passion for the indigenous landscape, which is easily recognised in my vibrant colourful and sensitive artworks. Luscious layers of pigment are applied with energy and spontaneity, often switching from brush to palette knife to provide additional texture and depth to my paintings.

PACKAGING
My paintings are treated with the greatest care throughout their life in my studio and home, or at exhibitions where they may temporarily hang. Your new art will be carefully wrapped in bubble-wrap and sturdy cardboard.
DELIVERY
Delivery is via Australia Post. If you would prefer courier delivery, please let me know at the time of purchase and I can arrange this for no additional charge.
