Petals Like Confetti 3 by Eve Sellars – a colourful and lively painting inspired by trees blossoming in spring.
THE INSPIRATION
When we enter the final days of winter, I cannot help but notice cherry and plum trees in my neighbourhood are blooming - delicate petals signalling the end of cold weather. I do love this time of year!
I love painting foliage, and have embarked on a series of abstract paintings such as Confetti, which celebrates the seasons, and the flowers and blooms in our own backyards and neighbourhoods.
Using mostly pinks, purple and grey, with highlights in aqua and ultramarine, and set against a dramatic deep purple background, the contrast in colours and tone is harmonious as well as striking.

My paintings are treated with the greatest care throughout their life in my studio and home, or at exhibitions where they may temporarily hang. Your artwork will be carefully wrapped in bubble-wrap and sturdy recycled cardboard. Bubble wrap can be recycled at most supermarkets.
