Lover's Tiff

These two pelicans sitting on the rail of a jetty, caught my interest when I was visiting the beach. They were studiously ignoring each other and myself also. They were obviously very used to people taking photos of them and seemed to be just waiting for me to move on.
I loved the muted lighting which added definition to their plumage and produced such bright highlights.

I am originally from Wales but settled in Australia many years ago. I have always been interested in art but being a full time teacher and bringing up three boisterous boys meant I had little time in which to experiment. Since I have retired I spend most of my time producing artwork, whether it be graphite drawing, painting in acrylics, coloured pencil work or pen and ink work. I am also involved with U3A ( University of the Third Age ) , a not for profit organisation run by volunteers, and teach drawing using graphite pencil and pen and ink.
