Whilst holidaying in Japan, I came across some gardens containing umbrellas protecting the flowers growing underneath. From the sun or the rain, who can say?

I am originally from Wales but settled in Australia many years ago. I have always been interested in art but being a full time teacher and bringing up three boisterous boys meant I had little time in which to experiment. Since I have retired I spend most of my time producing artwork, whether it be graphite drawing, painting in acrylics, coloured pencil work or pen and ink work. I am also involved with U3A ( University of the Third Age ) , a not for profit organisation run by volunteers, and teach drawing using graphite pencil and pen and ink.
