Artwork Description

Part of my resistance series (animals behaving like humans).
This one is a brown bear waiting for a hunter to grab the fast food bait. Unbelievably these traps are still used in a lot of countries.
It’s food for thought with a wry sense of humour.
Comes ready framed in a suitable vintage frame and is ready to hang.
Certificate of authenticity and a note of gratitude is included.

Artist Bio

Ewen is a Tasmanian artist specialising in people and portraits.
Residing in the beautiful suburb of Bonnet Hill, just south of Hobart, surrounded by the natural world that inspires a lot of his work.
His big passion is telling peoples stories through his portraits, he’s not interested in the pretty young things, more the history in the lines and scars of real people.
A lot of his work is very graphic and may only appeal to a select few but he has still managed to have his work in institutions, galleries and private residences throughout the globe.
Some of his more recent work includes commissions of politicians, including Bob Brown, an ambition satisfied as he’s a committed conservationist.
When Ewen gets some spare time he likes to paint animals, especially rabbits behaving badly, inspired by his partner in art Coolio.
As well as being a supporter of human and animal rights he’s also a passionate advocate of LGBTQIA’s rights.
