Artwork Description

I'm always distracted with natures inspirations and its endless beauty. Plants, flowers, rocks, light and water flowing directly to the canvas.

Artist Bio

Hi, thank you for visiting my profile! I am a Sydney based artist, I am self-taught. My father was an artist in his younger years so I was fortunate to inherit his artistic and creative passion for art. My mother was a dress maker. As a child I would spend endless hours drawing, painting, sewing clothes for my dolls from my mother’s off cut fabrics and listening to music. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue my passion when I finished high school. On deciding what to choose for my career, I had to choose between my two loves, being an artist or fashion designer, I chose fashion. I had a good successful career having the opportunity to design, create, illustrate and colour coordinate my creations.
One day I bought paint and a blank canvas I started to apply paint on the canvas, this was when I was at my happiest, I knew this is what I wanted to do again and I never looked back.
Acrylic paint is my preferred medium although sometimes I like to impact some texture, mixed media exploring my physicality into my artwork, constantly learning and growing as an artist.
My inspiration comes from nature, a love and deep connection that began in childhood.
The depth, smell, texture and richness of colours of Australian landscape from the red desert to the coastal blue ocean, a memory or a feeling that I strive to see in my artwork, flowing directly to the canvas, building layers, textures, and colour blending and evolving.
Sometimes I don’t have a plan when painting. I start with a blank canvas with colours of my first choice, then I start to paint what I feel and something magical happens with a self of freedom to experiment to all possibilities expressing movement and emotions with interesting outcomes. No two paintings are the same, they are one of a kind and original.
I hope doing what I love can bring joy and happiness into your world as they did mine whilst they were being created.
