Artwork Description

Inspired by a springtime hike in Gariwerd (the Grampians National Park), this painting captures a moment of quiet transformation. Early wildflowers were beginning to bloom as cloud drifted across the landscape, softening its forms and leaving the experience suspended between reality and dream.

Artist Bio

I am a Melbourne (Naarm)‑based landscape painter whose practice explores the emotional experience of place. Working between realism and impressionism, my paintings aim to capture not just what is seen, but what is felt when immersed in the natural world. Australia’s vast and varied landscapes continue to inspire me — from dense rainforests and arid desert interiors to the familiar bushland close to home. It is often the quieter, transient moments within these environments that draw me in: a shift in light, a pause in weather, or a sense of stillness that invites reflection.
Through painting, I seek to distil these moments — responding to energy, atmosphere, and memory — and translate them into works that hold space for contemplation. My intention is to create paintings that resonate emotionally, offering viewers a moment of connection with the landscape and with their own experience of it.
