Farideh Zariv is an Iranian-born Australian artist. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Tehran in 1984 and her Master’s degree in Print Media from the Australian National University in 2004. With over three decades of experience as a practicing artist, she has also amassed twenty years of experience as a gallery director and art curator, leaving her indelible mark on the art scenes of Iran.
Australia, and Oman. Zariv’s artistic footprint spans the globe, as she has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the United States, Malaysia, China, Mexico, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and more.
Zariv became an Australian citizen in 2001 and was granted funding by the Australian Government for her “Hand of Fatima” exhibition. This esteemed exhibition was showcased at the Canberra Museum and Art Gallery in 2005, garnering accolades and further establishing her as a distinguished artist. In 2006, the same exhibition was invited by the Bo-Kaap Iziko Museum in South Africa.
Zariv’s work has been presented in several museums, private collections, and public institutions worldwide. She participated in the esteemed 2019 Beijing International Art Biennale at the National Museum in China and the 3rd Oil Painting Biennale at the Dafen Museum in 2022. In 2023, her artworks will be showcased at the prestigious 19th Asian Art Biennale in Dhaka, Bangladesh, further solidifying her international recognition.
