Artist Bio

Fay Jackson is experiencing a rebirthing of her art after a 25 year hiatus from the onset of a disabling neurological condition which affected the control of her hands. Once a realist painter she is now enjoying the freedom and vivacity of working with her disability rather than it working against her art. She is passionate about the inner world, experiences and spirit of people, animals, nature, landscapes and even inanimate objects as they relate one to another. He first love in art is portraiture followed closely by nudes. She seeks to capture the spirit of every person and every pose in each artwork whether it be a 1 minute line drawing or a 12 hour painting. People remark on how Fay captures their spirit through such words as “how did you capture me both as a child and as an older woman? I can even see my grandchildren in my portrait as well as my mother!” Or “how did you know that about me? I didn’t reveal that part of my story to you”.
She works in pastels, watercolour, acrylic and oils depending on the time available and the feeling emerging from the pose, person or subject.
