Artwork Description

“Clay pans 2 “ is an areal view of outback Australia. The medium of watercolour and mix is used with emphasis on the linear to express movement of riverlets and clay pans which can be likened to early Aboriginal rock paintings where x ray like vision interprets the ecology of the land.
Colours is rich and mellow with use of pinks and ochres . This amazing introspective work is framed in a stunning manner. Float mounted with mats and glass and white contemporary box timber frame . A work of integrity .Beautiful in any setting

Artist Bio

I am a career artist absolutely focused on my art practice Over the years I have developed a fascination for the Australian outback ,therefore this features predominantly in my work . The use of heightened colour ,patterned form and brisk marks allow me to interpret this incredible ancient vista in a unique and personal manner.
The watercolour medium used on fine quality rag paper with mix or acrylic on canvas offers me opportunities to delight the viewer in a contemporary style . My work on paper is made more exciting by use of float mounting ,deckle edge and contemporary box frame
I also love the subject of still life and find this to be wonderfully engaging . Based in Melbourne with strong connections to Mansfield ,Jamieson and surrounds where I spent many years, I am interested in variety of subject matter, from still life to landscapes and city scapes . My work has won numerous awards and is featured in collections here and overseas
