Artwork Description

This painting interprets the Australian Outback in a rich intense manner . The amazing use of colour applied simply creates distance . The wonderfully strong reds used with turquoise of the sky area create a contrast which is breathtaking. This original contemporary painting would be amazing on a white or coloured wall . No need to frame as image extends to wide sides canvas (see product images ) . This painting is a joy to behold ,which a photo cannot capture .

Artist Bio

I am a career artist absolutely focused on my art practice Over the years I have developed a fascination for the Australian outback ,therefore this features predominantly in my work . The use of heightened colour ,patterned form and brisk marks allow me to interpret this incredible ancient vista in a unique and personal manner.
The watercolour medium used on fine quality rag paper with mix or acrylic on canvas offers me opportunities to delight the viewer in a contemporary style . My work on paper is made more exciting by use of float mounting ,deckle edge and contemporary box frame
I also love the subject of still life and find this to be wonderfully engaging . Based in Melbourne with strong connections to Mansfield ,Jamieson and surrounds where I spent many years, I am interested in variety of subject matter, from still life to landscapes and city scapes . My work has won numerous awards and is featured in collections here and overseas
