Felicity Cause is a young artist living and working from her home studio in Toowoomba. Hailing from her family home on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, she spent most of her younger years travelling North Queensland and the Northern Territory with her parents’ business building steel cattle yards. This is where her love of animals, in particular horses, flourished.
Art came naturally to Felicity, creating portaits of the animals she was surrounded by in her everyday adventures. Being homeschooled and a self taught artist, Felicity later attended a prestigous boarding school in South East Queensland on an art scholarship. Here, her talent and passion for art continued to grow encompassing new mediums such as pastel, graphite, watercolour, coloured pencil and oil based works. This eventually led to a feature article in the 2016 Spring Edition of Highlife Downs Living magazine.
Between client commissions, Felicity focuses on her own original artworks. Her graphite pieces are a great example of her favoured style as it allows the simplicity of tone to highlight the beauty of an animal, which is what she has always endeavoured to express through her art. This intent has always been of high importance while creating pet portraits for her clients as she is determined to bring them to life through art in the way they are remembered.
Aside from her passion for hyperrealism, Felicity also dapples in more contempory styles. By combining watercolour, ink and pen, she is able to create exciting pieces, emphasising colour, movement and line. These pieces are popular and add a perfect splash of colour to any wall.
