Artwork Description

A surrealist depiction of The Blue Lake, also known as 'Rangihiroas mirror' in Tongariro National park, New Zealand.
Inspired by my travels from around New Zealand.
The vibrant colours of this painting would be suited to the bedroom or living room in the house or lodging. Or perhaps a lobby in a travel agency or youth hostel?
Acrylic paints.

Artist Bio

Christopher grew up in the suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand.
He is an acrylic painter and artist specialising in painting world landscapes, animals of the world, and political/ world history concepts.
He describes his style as precise, detailed, and vibrant. He uses the process of painting layer upon layer, and finishing off with attention to detail.

He started painting many years ago whilst living in the USA.
He then moved to Broome, North Western Australia, and became inspired by the rugged landscape, and kept on painting there.
He studied art there with TAFEWA, and worked with prominent artists and mentors. He also experimented with digital art.
Soon after study he became an Art tutor, and taught at Broome Regional Prison for 3 to 4 years.
In Broome he also became involved in television and film as a Scenic Artist/Set Painter. He met many people in the industry, and it gave him more scope of experience as an artist.
He moved to Northern NSW roughly 10 years ago, and in the last few years has been producing a new series of paintings.

Finally, he paints to enhance his style, spirit and well being. To share his passion for visual experience.
