Artwork Description

This work is influenced by my own journey of self healing and self love. I embarked on a journey to truly listen to myself and my needs and in doing so I met my inner child. This piece represents the promise between the adult self and the younger self to never neglect, shame or abandon the needs of the other. It shows great strength and support to show up for each other, love each other and be there for each other. This piece would be excellent for anyone on their own journey of self healing, it invokes a sense of peace, calm and serenity. It stops people in their tracks to contemplate the meaning behind it and to look inward. This piece would also be excellent in a healing centre or women’s retreat space.

Hi my name is Fiona and I am an Irish artist living and working in Melbourne. My background is in psychology and art therapy which I bring forward into my artwork. I use art as a way to explore complex mental health themes and issues through portraiture and expressionism. My work explores my own inner struggles and shedding light on the discovery of compassion and self love. I love mostly to showcase with a piece how subtle complex emotions can be expressed through facial expressions and the use of colour.
