Coastal Dreaming

‘Coastal Dreaming’ reminds me of warm days on the Mornington Peninsula (South of Melbourne). The hills around Mt Martha, dotted with homes, rising up next to the bay. This painting, with its rich ultramarine blues, teals and soft fluorescent oranges and corals makes me think of summer and sunshine and coastal breezes.

This artwork is created with acrylic paint, graphite and crayon, and finished with matte varnish for protection and longevity. It comes framed in a Victorian Ash floating frame.
This work is signed on the front and back, and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

Fiona is a mixed media artist whose contemporary abstract works reflect both the internal and external landscape, often pondering how one so commonly reflects the other.
Bright, bold colours shape Fiona's work and she is fascinated by the messy and imperfect in both art and in life, with intentional echoes of childhood mark-marking. She is interested in the form of our art before we are taught all the 'rules'.
Fiona graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree from the University of Melbourne in 2004, and has since explored various types of creative expression in a communications role, working with graphic design, installation, film and photography.
