Artwork Description

‘Take Heart’ is an original artwork on canvas, a mixed media work, featuring acrylic paint and crayon.
This wild and energetic abstract landscape is a beautiful cacophony of colour and line, but I feel like it speaks of boldness and courage. To me, it takes a stand and refuses to move or change. It’s a call to ‘take heart’, to stand strong and not let fear derail us.

This painting is sealed for protection with matte varnish.

Fiona is a mixed media artist whose contemporary abstract works reflect both the internal and external landscape, often pondering how one so commonly reflects the other.
Bright, bold colours shape Fiona's work and she is fascinated by the messy and imperfect in both art and in life, with intentional echoes of childhood mark-marking. She is interested in the form of our art before we are taught all the 'rules'.
Fiona graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree from the University of Melbourne in 2004, and has since explored various types of creative expression in a communications role, working with graphic design, installation, film and photography.
