This work shows one of my favourite combinations for still life. Flowers with glass in beautiful window light. I love to use nostalgic objects in this way to bring the past and the present together.
This work is oil on canvas, unframed and ready to hang.

I studied Theatre Arts and specialised in Scenic painting and design. I loved this work and it led to me working for many years as a mural and decorative painter. I have been painting the ocean and the coast for quite a few years now. I love the ocean in all its moods. I love just to be within cooee of the coast and to hear the sea in the night and to know it is just a short distance away. I live in the Southwest of Western Australia and find so many beautiful places in this area. My current work is in pastels, oils and acrylic. I choose my media to suit my subject. My subject, so often is water. I am currently working on a series of still life works that combine familiar and nostalgic objects that evoke memory, combined with flowers and the light of the present. This for me is a show of respect for history and for the beauty of the moment.
