A contemporary artist based on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, originally from Melbourne. Moving away from the corporate world to the artworld, Fiona's artwork reflects a deep connection to nature and the beautiful rural and beach environment around her.
Artistic Education and Background:
• Developed a passion for art in childhood and adulthood through various short art courses.
• Certificates II, III, and IV in Visual Arts at Oxygen College, Geelong (2018-2021).
• Bachelor's Degree in Design Arts, major in Visual Arts (GPA 6.96/7) 2021-2023.
Artistic Focus:
Fiona works across diverse mediums, including acrylics, textured art, watercolours, charcoal, graphite and monoprints. Her current practice involves developing and discovering new techniques in textured art, reflecting the interplay between the natural world and human emotion.
Philosophy:
Fiona believes that art is a pathway to happiness and a vital contributor to everyone's wellbeing. Art is not all about talent, it’s about belonging and discovering its magic to heal and be part of a community, either by expressing, creating or appreciating. There is a need for a strong emphasis on the importance of community art for people to come together and belong.
