This is from a series of paintings which are characters from a fictional movie/play/theatre that came from my imagination. It explores the psyche around themes of sensuality, sexuality, duality, power through allure and the ‘masks’ we adorn in our ‘real lives’ which are not all that seems on the surface. The characters of ‘Instagram’ and Tik Tok and what we devise and create the illusion of perfection, curated online. These characters I have invented are set against a black backdrop giving it a little bit more drama and more about the subject being the centre of the universe.
It is extremely hard to photograph gold paint and black background.
