Artwork Description

In this piece, I wanted to explore the friction between raw, chaotic energy and the rigid structures of the world around us. Against a bold, coral red background, I built a towering, central figure capped with a jagged crown and a large, luminous oval that serves as the psychological anchor of the composition. I deliberately balanced structured elements, like the grid pattern on the right that mimics a modernist high rise, with spontaneous, gritty gestures. The black linework is intentionally loose and scribbled, keeping the human hand visible throughout. Below the central form, I painted a heavy cascade of blood-orange droplets raining into a dark archway, creating a sense of rhythm, movement, and hidden depth. For me, this painting captures the feeling of navigating an urban landscape while holding onto a sense of personal, slightly offbeat majesty.

Artist Bio

I see the world in shapes and colours. With more than 30 years of experience as a creator, my art is the result of a life lived across borders and cultures. Having lived overseas and travelled widely, I’ve found that painting is the only way I can truly express myself without words. It has been my loyal companion through every season of change, giving me energy and a sense of purpose. I am deeply in love with the process of creating something new, the journey of the brush is just as important as the finished piece. My work is an intuitive response to the sights and sounds that surround me, inviting the viewer to join me in that sensory exploration. I am deeply in love with the process of creating something new, which is why I’ve learned to trust spontaneity and embrace imperfection. My work is a visceral response to my environment, not a literal record of it; it is a way of seeing the world for myself, rather than recording how others expect me to see it. By letting the energy of the moment guide my hand, I make room for the intuitive marks that define my journey. Each piece is a sensory dialogue............a response to sound, sight, and the raw joy of the unscripted path.
