Artwork Description

This abstract expressionist piece explores the crowded, whimsical charm of community living. Inspired by the architecture of a tightly packed village, I delve into the visual tension between structures and the critical gaps left between them. The composition is built upon a rich, deep brown backdrop that evokes a grounded, earthy warmth. Suspended within this space are geometric, raw houses defined by frantic, intuitive linework. Bright panels of cadmium orange and canary yellow peek through windows, mimicking the sudden glow of life behind closed doors. Stark white blocks and moody teal accents slice through the texture, adding layers of urban complexity and rhythm. This is my playful commentary on modern proximity—how we stack our lives together, find room to breathe in the negative spaces, and share unseen connection lines with our neighbours.

Artist Bio

I see the world in shapes and colours. With more than 30 years of experience as a creator, my art is the result of a life lived across borders and cultures. Having lived overseas and travelled widely, I’ve found that painting is the only way I can truly express myself without words. It has been my loyal companion through every season of change, giving me energy and a sense of purpose. I am deeply in love with the process of creating something new, the journey of the brush is just as important as the finished piece. My work is an intuitive response to the sights and sounds that surround me, inviting the viewer to join me in that sensory exploration. I am deeply in love with the process of creating something new, which is why I’ve learned to trust spontaneity and embrace imperfection. My work is a visceral response to my environment, not a literal record of it; it is a way of seeing the world for myself, rather than recording how others expect me to see it. By letting the energy of the moment guide my hand, I make room for the intuitive marks that define my journey. Each piece is a sensory dialogue............a response to sound, sight, and the raw joy of the unscripted path.
