Artwork Description

This mixed media piece is an exploration of texture, contrast, and structured chaos. I built the composition using a combination of layered acrylics, mark-making tools, and textured block printing elements. On the right, a structured, olive-green grid mimics the repetitive windows of urban high-rises, juxtaposed against fluid, organic black and white forms that anchor the bottom of the canvas. At the top left, delicate, rain like scratch marks overlay floating organic shapes, creating a sense of movement and weather. The painting shifts between heavy, grounded shadows and light, airy textures, inviting the viewer to find their own narrative in the abstract landscape. My work is deeply influenced by the constant dialogue between the structured, man-made world and the unpredictable beauty of nature. Living in a modern environment, I am fascinated by how concrete architecture intersects with organic elements like moss, shifting shadows, and sudden rainstorms.

Artist Bio

I see the world in shapes and colours. With more than 30 years of experience as a creator, my art is the result of a life lived across borders and cultures. Having lived overseas and travelled widely, I’ve found that painting is the only way I can truly express myself without words. It has been my loyal companion through every season of change, giving me energy and a sense of purpose. I am deeply in love with the process of creating something new, the journey of the brush is just as important as the finished piece. My work is an intuitive response to the sights and sounds that surround me, inviting the viewer to join me in that sensory exploration. I am deeply in love with the process of creating something new, which is why I’ve learned to trust spontaneity and embrace imperfection. My work is a visceral response to my environment, not a literal record of it; it is a way of seeing the world for myself, rather than recording how others expect me to see it. By letting the energy of the moment guide my hand, I make room for the intuitive marks that define my journey. Each piece is a sensory dialogue............a response to sound, sight, and the raw joy of the unscripted path.
