Coming into the warmer months we begin to make waru (fires) across the land - sometimes large fires and other times smaller. Fire is really important to bring the land alive again and to keep our community safe. Come spring across the tali (sand hills) you can see the desert flowers beginning to bud and young growth coming up strong

Florence is a young mother living in Tjukurla. Since she was a young baby she has lived in Tjukurla. In recent years, moving to Docker River to go to school and spending time in Alice Springs looking after her grandfather, Toby Farmer. She is an emerging artist; started to paint recently after she returned Tjukurla, her grandfather's country
