Amy’s Turtle II

Having painted Amy’s Turtle in a more traditional style, I decided to add a contemporary twist. This was a very experimental piece for me, and took me out of my comfort zone.
This work was completed in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, the colours used are reflective of this.

Fran Buchan is Artist in Residence at Canvas at The Collective, Perth WA.
Fran began her studies at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen before moving to Australia and joining the Fremantle School of Art in the early 1990’s.
