Measuring in at 78cmx106cm each (framed) these consist of 564 origami churches of my own design. 564 is the number of Catholic priests identified as child abuse perpetrators by the royal commission and I folded one church for each perpetrator from the pages of "The Catholic Youth Bible". This diptych is part of my "I See You" series which is designed to visually represent uncomfortable truths in our society.
Francesca Richards 11 artworks | 0 Sold Follow Contact Francesca I am an Australian origami artist who has been doing origami and creating beautiful pieces since I was 8 years old. My father bought me my first book on origami for Christmas in 1990 and I fell in love with it. I suffer from severe anxiety and origami helps to calm and centre me.I have exhibited in Linden Art Gallery in Melbourne and also in Aspire Gallery in Brisbane during various shows and won a prize for my piece "Three Wishes" which hangs on my wall at home now. I decided three years ago to become an artist and it has been a long and tough road so far, but the 6 year old in me is very proud. I hope you enjoy my artworks as much as I enjoy creating them.
