I have always enjoyed drawing and painting. Sometimes though life gets very busy, and we don’t always get time to do all the things we love.
Then approximately 10 years ago a dear friend of mine started talking about going to an art class run by Bill Kerr, at the Louis Joel Art and Community Centre, we decided to both attend, and it was then that my passion for painting was once again ignited. I started off painting in acrylics, but very soon progressed to oils, I find oils have a greater depth of colour and are less erratic than acrylics. I enjoy painting various subject matters from landscapes, to animals, and the occasional portrait, which I have done on commission. I do find that portraits are a bit more challenging, but they can also be so rewarding when you capture the likeness of that person.
I still have so much to learn, and when I’m not painting, I’m searching through Pinterest, googling artists or going on utube, watching tutorials. I am thoroughly enjoying the journey to discover how I would like to express myself as an artist.
