'The Balancing of Things' is about the challenges of balancing one's needs for creative expression with the demands of making a living. Art is a most unreasonable calling!
A whole series (about 100 of them) of little 'pot boilers' developed over a couple of years, usually late at night in the studio when I had precious little time available during the day due to teaching commitments. I worked in gouache and was trying to find compositional use of all the life drawing I was doing to improve my drawing skills. Free reign to the imagination. While I was hoping to find starting points for future paintings, I found this media gave full expression to these ideas in its own right. About 30 have been exhibited in Chiltern, North East Victoria, at Elvery Fine Art Gallery. I am selling these framed; single mount, glazed, Ash frames (blond Australian hardwood) in vertical format. Framed size 52x42cm, 3 cm frame thickness. Weight; about 1 kg
