Artwork Description

Working with gold foil and collage, my signature hand embellished bird prints have evolved over the years to reflect my passion for colour. This work is heavily influenced by my current obsession with florescent pink and the amazing work of current contemporary abstract artists.
I like to create abstract works around my birds which evoke an Australiana feel and something of the bold and structural shapes of the Australian Flora.

Artist Bio

Frankie O is a Bendigo based Artist whose work is inspired by a multitude of subjects which include Australian flora and fauna, vintage teacups, iconic cities, portraiture, and high fashion. The excitement of each image recreated in Frankie’s distinctive vibrant style is enticing to see no matter what the medium.

Frankie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and a Diploma in Education from La Trobe University. She spent several years teaching in the UK and participated in the ‘Rome Art Program’ in 2015 in Italy. This was a pivotal time in her creative journey which instigated her two, year long ‘One Drawing a Day’ projects.

Frankie has held several group exhibitions and successful solo exhibitions. Most recently she has been working on large scale murals around Bendigo, The most recent being the Penny Weight Walk ‘In Bloom’ murals which depicted a series of modern florals using expressions of colour and line. The layering of shape and repetition on pattern depicted an exciting and energetic arrangement, which were both bold and dynamic.

Frankie currently works from her home studio in Eaglehawk while raising her two young children.
