‘Wild Hearts’ (Angel & Reeka, the Wombat Joeys orphans)
Through moments of loneliness, and times of pain, they found a place where they can feel safe again. It is a place they can run and bounce, dig and play.
One day, Angel the Wombat Joey came to stay, with not much to her but a pumping heart and persistent strength. A few weeks later, as Angel grew, she met a friend too, and her name was Reeka.
Reeka and Angel would spend their days running around in the golden haze. The two wombat buddies felt safe and secure in their new home, where they didn’t have to fear the rumbling monsters and blinding lights.
Day in, day out, they are looked after without a doubt. Such gentle human friends, who kindly assist their fluffy friends with comforting hands.
Without the persistence and hope of these generous carers, the animals seeking refuge, wouldn’t have hope to someday walk back out to the wild places.
One day, while at the wheel of your rumbling monster, you might meet them again too and in the path of your blinding lights...so please slowdown for the sake of these Wild Hearts.
