Originally from the UK, since a young age, I have always been influenced and surrounded by the local art scene in St.Ives and the Newlyn School in the UK. Most of my work is driven by the need to capture the energy, movement and narrative in the landscapes being depicted and capturing that self-connection to land and sea.
For me, there's always emotion or feeling that needs to be expressed. Working from, plein-air sketches and taking photographic imagery, I create unique artwork by capturing different compositions and narratives from nature, whether that's people, wind or waves, and this is done with more gestural strokes and mark making in the studio to create expressive and impressionist artwork.
