Melbourne based artist, Gab specialises in contemporary painting and sign writing - with a focus on figurative scenes as part of an ongoing series that contemplates the relatability of memory through found 35mm slides, film stills and printed ephemera. Sourcing reference from their growing archive, Gab is drawn to the concept of anonymity that is innate in found imagery and its contrary relationship with the sense of familiarity apparent in the scenes illustrated.
