Artwork Description

"Waves of Sorrow, Pools of Joy"
Acrylic on canvas

Inspired by the ever-changing moods of the ocean and the mysteries that lie beneath, Waves of Sorrow, Pools of Joy is an abstract exploration of emotional depth. Swirls of ocean blues, vibrant greens, and hidden purples reflect the contrast between light and shadow — moments of grief, healing, and serenity. Just as the sea moves from stormy to still, this piece flows between turbulence and calm, capturing the essence of being human: waves of sorrow, and the unexpected, quiet pools of joy that follow.

Artist Bio

A creative thinker, photographer, maker, painter.

When I was a little girl, I thought I wanted to be a fashion designer, because I loved to draw elaborate gowns in vibrant colours. When I finished year 12 and started a fashion design course at East Sydney TAFE, I quickly realised it was more about patterns, sewing and garment construction - so not for me.

I've since bumped along in the career path of sales and marketing, my own photography business and some questionable acting and extras work - but my first and truest love of drawing and creating never left.

After being introduced to the joys of art as therapy, I have final found my happy place.

My most recent projects are all about Recycling. Reviving, repurposing, Renewing old artworks with my own #LilBitofGab to it to bring it to a new audience.
