Coloured pencil on acid-free white, slightly textured mat board. The board dimensions are as stated above; the width of the cushion drawing is approx. 27cm; the height of the overall drawing, 25 cm.

I love to draw pet portraits showcasing their individual character and their all-round loveliness. Whether I draw a living pet or a memorial portrait, I am always honoured to take on such a deeply personal task. A true-to-life portrayal in pencil is so much more than a snap shot by camera.

I also accept pet portrait commissions.

From Naturopathy to Art

After retiring from my naturopathic practice in 2019, I rekindled my artistic passion that I had let lie dormant for over 40 years. As a teenager, I loved to draw with a simple graphite pencil, taking my inspiration mainly from postcards that I had collected on family trips around Victoria, Australia.

Today, I use artist-grade coloured pencils and, increasingly, soft pastels. I love to depict people, animals and all things shiny, always aiming for realistic portrayal in my art.

In my paintings I love to convey boldness, vibrancy and character as expressed in the vivid colours of nature, our spectacular Aussie wildlife, the cuteness of our companion animals, the unique 'landscapes' of the human face and the wowser of shiny man-made objects.
