Wild and Free

This is an abstract representation of the untameable wildness of the sea. The sea, beautiful and calming one minute and ferocious the next is as fickle as life on earth itself. We must live in the moment and be grateful for every happy moment, all the while being aware that everything changes all the time. The original title was going to be: Seize the Day!

The painting is on cradled wood panel, ready to hang, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

It would best suit a position in full light and, even better, with an overhead light making the iridescent lower third of the painting come alive.

From Naturopathy to Art

After retiring from my naturopathic practice in 2019, I rekindled my artistic passion that I had let lie dormant for over 40 years. As a teenager, I loved to draw with a simple graphite pencil, taking my inspiration mainly from postcards that I had collected on family trips around Victoria, Australia.

Today, I use artist-grade coloured pencils and, increasingly, soft pastels. I love to depict people, animals and all things shiny, always aiming for realistic portrayal in my art.

In my paintings I love to convey boldness, vibrancy and character as expressed in the vivid colours of nature, our spectacular Aussie wildlife, the cuteness of our companion animals, the unique 'landscapes' of the human face and the wowser of shiny man-made objects.
