Artwork Description

Antibes Bliss is an original oil painting from my French Riviera series, created as an homage to the tranquil beauty of Antibes, a charming coastal town that captivated me during my travels. The painting depicts a vibrant still life scene featuring a stunning bouquet of colorful flowers, including lilies and peonies, complemented by a selection of fruits such as peaches, grapes, and cherries. The serene blue sea of Antibes is visible in the distance, with the town’s characteristic orange-tiled rooftops offering a peaceful, scenic backdrop. This artwork captures the essence of summer in the French Riviera — the perfect combination of nature’s bounty and the beauty of the Mediterranean.

Artist Bio

I am a self-taught oil painter living half of the year in Birch Bay, WA and half of the year in Oahu, HI. I enjoy painting in a realistic style so that the canvas scenes evoke emotions that allow my soul to travel.

I focus my attention to detail and vibrant use of light and color to capture nature’s awe-inspiring beauty. My passion for the natural world is evident in every dreamlike work of art I create. I absorb healing energy from nature and transpose it to my paintings.

Painting for me is like dreaming, only on canvas.

My favorite subjects include seascapes, flowers, and landscapes. I have studied multiple techniques around the world, combining everything from traditional painting to engraving to form my own unique style. My paintings convey a pleasant, calm joy of life.

They are a window into a special universe filled with happiness and harmony.

I have a Ph D in Chemistry, and I taught math for 22 years. I really enjoy painting, paddle boarding and skiing.
I travel a lot. I observe the beauty of nature, places, animals and people. Traveling inspires me, changes my perspective, and gives me positive creativity which flows into my artwork. In each painting I try to create a special space with its unique vibes.
