This piece is a gentle, symbolic portrait of two cats curled together in a yin–yang-like embrace. Cool blues and warm pinks overlap to suggest balance, comfort, and connection, while the starry blue background adds a quiet night-time mood. Influenced by folk-inspired illustration and colour-driven contemporary painting, the work focuses on simple shapes, playful pattern, and the calm feeling of being safe with someone you trust.

Galina Payne is a talented artist and a graduate of the Tver Art College named after Venetsianov. She moved to Australia and actively participates in local exhibitions. She has also worked with people with disabilities, helping them achieve success in exhibitions. Her works can be seen in galleries in Fremantle, and in her artistic practice she works with oil, acrylic, and pastel.
