Artist Bio

I am a visual artist split between two worlds: the vast, quiet landscapes of the Southwestern Gobi Desert in Mongolia where I grew up, and the dynamic creative energy of Sydney, Australia. My practice is deeply rooted in my nomadic cultural heritage, exploring themes of identity, sustainability, and continuous transformation. My approach to scale and texture was fundamentally shaped by a decade spent painting massive theatrical sets for Opera Australia and the Sydney Theatre Company. Today, working out of my Newtown studio, I channel this grand sense of space into abstract minimalist painting, sculpture, and assemblages that intricately intertwine text and recycled materials. My work is a deliberate rejection of the digital age. I create tactile art, live improvised soundscapes, and analogue videos filmed in a single, continuous shot with zero computer effects. Drawing from my long-term project, Sometimes You Need Silence, my art serves as a physical, therapeutic antidote to modern screen fatigue—offering collectors a peaceful horizon and a quiet sanctuary to slow down. With over 10 solo and 40 group exhibitions across Australia, Mongolia, Germany, and the USA, I also champion the global art community as the founder of Mongolia’s contemporary MARS Residency.
