Garth is a self taught artist from Western Sydney.
An award winning and published poet, he has painted on and off for two decades, but has now committed to his art practice full time.
Garth identifies as an outsider artist, and with a diagnosis of autism, refers to his work as naive expressionism.
Garth's work is a tool for reflection and unpacking. His bold primary and fluro works are offset by muted black and whites, a back and forth of balance.
Having won the Westmead Hospital art prize in 2011, you will find Garth's work hanging prominently in Westmead and Mount Druitt hospitals, as well as in private collections.
He has just been awarded the first prize art award of the Blue Fringe Art Festival, October 2022.
