Happy Emu was a recent finalist in the 2020 Lethbridge 20000 Art Competition.
I took the original photo at the Childers Bird Sanctuary, he looked so happy so I had to paint him with pastels.

I started drawing with pencil at school many years ago and later in life I traveled a lot so I would draw sitting in airports waiting for flights. Drawing was my hobby right up to 2017 and then I started to take drawing more seriously. In November 2017 I started painting with pastels and in October 2018 I turned professional and I'm now averaging one commission per week, mainly pets but I also paint wildlife and people portraits.
