I regularly walk the dog at Point Addis, looking down on the ocean from up top I'm constantly in awe of just how large the oceans are, vast. They seem never ending, stretching out to the horizon and beyond. An endless expanse of lines, rising and falling, breaking then not breaking. Then you notice a small dot of white rising and falling in rhythm with the waves, just a lonely seagull sitting out in the vast expanse. Whats it doing? Having a rest? Maybe just enjoying the ocean as we do. Every once in a while a larger bird will skim across the tops of the waves, on its way back from or to a destination. I see gannets regularly at Point Addis, tiny against the vastness of the ocean, coming and going, sometimes diving as they do for fish. I've always liked gannets.
