Artwork Description

This painting is of Gorrings Beach, a small, quiet and intoxicating place on the southern coast of Tasmania
The gums here are old and many of them have fallen but what could they tell us and what have they seen? we can only imagine. There are small glimpes, " middins ", sheltered behind sand dunes and scrub. This beach has ben home to First Nation people

Artist Bio

Art has been a part of my life from a very early age.
After leaving school I studied art for 4 years at the Gordon Institute of Technology in Geelong ,Vicitoria, majoring in Textile Design
Teaching art in Government and Private schools dominated my working career, giving me enormous pleasure to introducing students to the wonderful world of art in all it's many forms.
Art is amazing , it is very personal, allowing you to express yourself through colour or subject but also can be shared by many people giving them pleasure, questions or simply vision,
For me, art ignited the desire to see more , travel and experience the many wonderful and varied places around the world,
Now living in Tasmania, life has slowed and I have the time to indulge myself in painting.
Oils have always fascinated me and now it seems to control my days.
My subjects are what surrounds me, the beauty of it all
I hope you enjoy my work and welcome to my world.
